Votes and Membership numbers

A question for the powers that be: Exactly how many options need to be presented for each planet before we formally vote on it? I ask because the number of active members is quite low (the total number of members isn't big either, so it's not like we have a lot of silent voters, just waiting to pounce when a poll appears), and some planets are getting close to having more name suggestions than there are probable voters.

I would suggest that it's silly to just force in a poll prematurely, because nobody's going to take us seriously if we do. Instead, the solution is probably to greatly expand our membership. Getting some of the major exoplanetary astronomers involved would add significantly to our credibility and publicity. (Although I imagine many of them would prefer to have sole control of planet naming.)
